Whiplash

Whiplash injuries are one of the most common types of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle crash, especially when the occupants are hit from behind or from the side. In a whiplash, the head moves into hyperextension (backwards) past it’s physiological range of motion then “whipped” forward into hyperflexion, finally recoiling back into extension.

Symptoms can include neck pain and soreness in the front and back of the neck, headaches, a feeling of instability or heaviness of the head, nausea, as well as heat and swelling. Whiplash can cause disc herniation or protrusions, nerve impingement, and shoulder or arm pain.

Most cases of whiplash will heal, depending on a variety of factors, in 2 to 12 months, weather you get any treatment or not. The question is how well it will heal. Whiplash, gone untreated, is well documented to cause scar tissue formation, loss of the cervical cure (or humping in the back of the neck), chronic headaches, and pre mature disc degeneration and arthritis.

In our office, we utilize the best practices in getting whiplash suffers well as quickly as possible, minimizing long term negative effects. Effective treatments include specific chiropractic manipulations, active myofascial release, Erchonia cold laser, cervical and lumbar traction, ultrasound, electric stimulation, ice, and progressive stretching/strengthening.

We also work with the areas top medical doctors, orthopedists, pain management doctors, neurologists, physical therapists, acupuncturists, and personal trainers to ensure our patients get the highest quality of multifaceted care.

Our office is highly trained and experienced in managing whiplash and car accident cases. We have taken continuing education classes regarding the management of whiplash cases and in 2009, Dr. Aaron was on the winning side as an expert witness in a jury trial for one of his patients in a motor vehicle crash.

“I suffered a whiplash injury at work. I was in constant, severe pain for over one month. I could not sleep for more than 20 minutes a night.

My primary doctor told me that my two options were to live with the pain or to have neck surgery. On a recommendation from a close friend, I went to see Hinde Chiropactic Center.

They told me that I had a third option…to fix what was causing my pain.
After my first visit, I could sleep the whole night. My pain level went from a 10 to a 3 almost immediately. It has been a true miracle.”
